This Privacy Policy explains how Receipt Genie handles information when you use the app.
Data stored by Receipt Genie
Receipt Genie stores receipt information on your device so the app can organise and display your records. This can include:
- receipt images you scan or import;
- business or merchant names;
- receipt and capture dates;
- receipt totals and GST amounts;
- expense categories and notes;
- sections, periods and archived receipt records; and
- merchant-name and category corrections learned from your edits.
Camera, scanning and OCR
Receipt Genie uses your device camera when you choose to scan a receipt. Receipt scanning and text recognition use Apple frameworks on the device.
Receipt Genie does not upload your receipt images or OCR results to a Receipt Genie server for processing.
Photo and file selection
You can choose to import a receipt image, photo or PDF using Apple system pickers. Receipt Genie receives only the item you choose to provide to the app.
Exports and backups
Receipt Genie does not transmit your receipt data unless you choose an action that shares or exports it.
If you create a PDF, CSV or backup and then use the system share sheet, the destination you choose may receive that file. Any handling by that destination is governed by its own privacy practices.
Analytics, advertising and tracking
Receipt Genie does not include advertising, cross-app tracking or third-party analytics services in the current version.
Data deletion
You can delete receipts, archived periods and sections inside Receipt Genie. Deleting the app from your device removes its locally stored app data, subject to any copies you have previously exported or backed up elsewhere.
Children
Receipt Genie is a general-purpose receipt management app and is not specifically directed to children.
Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated if Receipt Genie adds features that change how data is handled. The effective date shown above will be updated when material changes are made.
